Community Health Center FD & Live Healthy Iowa Holding 5K May 1st
Community Health Center of Fort Dodge in partnership with Live Healthy Iowa (LHI) will host a 5K in Fort
Dodge on Saturday, May 1 st . The 5K event will begin and end at Rosedale Rapids Aquatic Center. The
event is being sponsored locally by Brown’s Shoe Fit Co and Third Thursday Fit Night. Proceeds from the
event will benefit the Community Health Center as well as Live Healthy Iowa Kids initiatives.
The 5K run/walk will begin at 8:00 am followed by a 1K kid’s run at 9:00 am. All participants will receive
a Live Healthy Iowa 5K T-shirt, race number, finisher medal, and the opportunity to win door prizes. The
cost is just $25 online until April 12; and $30 up to the race. The 1K kid’s run, for ages 12 and younger, is

“The Live Healthy Iowa 5K will be the first in-person LHI event since COVID-19 forced us to cancel many
events in 2020,” said Director of Live Healthy Iowa, Nicole Kennedy. This will be a great and safe
opportunity for participants as we kick off Go The Distance May.”
“We are excited to partner with LHI to bring this run/walk to Fort Dodge,” said Regina Suhrbier,
Outreach Coordinator for Community Health Center of Fort Dodge. “It’s a great way to promote
wellness as well as fundraise for the health center.”
In addition to Fort Dodge, LHI is partnering with 10 other communities across Iowa. Events will also be
held in Bondurant, Britt, Carroll, Dickinson County, Dike, Fort Madison, Monroe County, Sergeant Bluff,
Spencer, and Story City on the same day. This will be the 7 th annual Live Healthy Iowa 5K in many of
these communities.
