Corn Belt Power Says Cold Weather Creates Strain On Grid
Corn Belt Power has issued an energy emergency alert and urges electric cooperative members to conserve energy to help reduce the power demands during this time.
During an Energy Emergency Alert Level 3, intermittent power outages are possible. The effects of widespread and extreme cold conditions have led to tightening conditions across a large portion of the country.
Please turn down your heat, refrain from or delay use of large appliances, and turn off lights. All electric cooperative consumers in our region, including those in western and Central Iowa, are affected by this event. If we all do our part, we can help avoid power outages during the extreme weather.
