Dodger Softball Blanks Ranked Dallas-Center Grimes Team

In a game heard Tuesday night on “Sunny” 99.7 and here on our website, Fort Dodge Softball cruised past a ranked Dallas Center-Grimes squad. The Dodgers bounced back from a 9-3 loss in the night cap of Monday’s twin-bill with Johnston. Fort Dodge split Monday’s pair of games taking the first. The Dodgers had no trouble with DCG at Rogers Park.

Dodgers win it 6-0 and controlled the game against a DCG team that was in the 4A State Semifinals last season. The Dodgers looked motivated after the loss, they came out and scored twice in the 1st on five hits. They got RBi singles from TK Doster and Mariah Myers to go up 2-0. They added one in the 2nd, after Haley Wills lead off the inning with a stand up double to the right center gap. Fort Dodge added one in the 3rd after TK Doster walked and scored. Fort Dodge would scratch across two more in the 4th.

Four Dodgers had multiple hit games. Haley Wills and Chloe Wertz both had two hits each. 8th grade phenom Mariah Myers had a pair of RBI singles, she now has five RBI’s in three games, which leads the team thus far. TK Doster showed patience at the plate after an RBi single in the first, she walked twice and scored twice. Jalen Adams was for 3 for 3 on the night at the plate, she’s now an incredible 9 of 11 on the season. Her work in the circle Tuesday was again dominant. Adams went the distance, throwing a shutout and scattering three hits. Adams has now thrown 14 consecutive shutout innings and allowed just three hits in that stretch.

That’s Dodger Coach Andi Adams with her thoughts on Jalen’s perfomances in the circle this season. Adams went onto to talk about her team being refocused after the loss to Johnston.

The Dodgers move to 2-1 with the win over DCG.
