Dodgers Advance To State Semi’s , Adams No Hits Bettendorff

After a Monday night win, in the 5A State Quarterfinals Fort Dodge Softball moved one step closer in their quest for the “big gold trophy”.

The final call of the State Quarterfinal win on “Sunny” 99.7. Jalen Adams was spectacular , she threw a complete game no hitter. While Adams did strike out 7, her defense made plays behind her.

Haley Wills with highlight reel stab and throw to first. Adams says she didn’t even realize she threw a no hitter until after the game.

After the game, Andi Adams was not only a proud coach but a proud mom.

The Dodgers executed at an incredibly high level. They blended execution in the bunt game, with nearly flawless defense, timely hitting and superior pitching. The Dodger got on the board with a TK Doster RBI single in the 1st. They added a run in each of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings. Dodgers extended the lead when they got two in the 5th on RBI singles from Sophia Klinger and Tory Bennett.

TK Doster stayed red hot at the plate as she had three hits, as did Maia Davis. 8 different Dodgers had at least one hit in the game.

The Dodger will meet Waukee in the State Semifinals on Wednesday, as they won thriller 9-8 over defending State Champs Cedar Rapids-Kennedy.
