FD Police Looking For Suspect Who Fled From Them Tuesday Night

The Fort Dodge Police Dept. issued the statement below, regarding a suspect who ran from them on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday, August 3 at approximately 11:30 P.M., officers with the Fort Dodge Police
Department conducted a traffic stop on a maroon Ford Fusion in the 600 block of North 22nd Street. As
officers approached the vehicle, the driver quickly accelerated away and began to flee westbound along
7th Ave North. Officers were able to get back in their patrol vehicles and pursue for a short time before
losing sight of the vehicle.

Officers continued to patrol the area looking for the vehicle. At approximately 11:37 P.M., an
officer with the Fort Dodge Police Department located the vehicle near the intersection of 21st Avenue
North and North 14th Court. As the officer was approaching the intersection in their patrol vehicle, the
Ford Fusion again began to elude.

Officers pursued the vehicle for a short time through the Round Prairie neighborhood. As the
fleeing vehicle entered the 600 block of 9th Avenue North, they became hung up on an embankment. At
that time the driver of the vehicle fled on foot. Officers were unable to locate the driver upon searching
the area.

We are continuing to investigate this incident and encourage anyone with information to
contact the Fort Dodge Police Department.
