Iowa’s 3rd District Congressman Randy Feenstra spoke on the house about the Sgt. Ketchum Rural Veterans Mental Health Act. Feenstra is a co-sponsor of the bill, and says that wound veterans sometimes suffer are not visible ones.
Feenstra says the bill is named after an Iowa who served.
The bill would establish additional Rural Access Network Growth Enhancement (RANGE) programs based on the need for additional mental health resources in rural areas. “RANGE” is an existing program designed to support veterans at a high risk of homelessness or inpatient hospitalization.
