The Calhoun County Attorney’s Office has announced that the county has reached a settlement with a former dispatcher and civil clerk in Calhoun County. The settlement stems from alleged sexual harassment and retaliation claims against former Calhoun County Sheriff Scott Anderson. The settlement will pay the former dispatcher $900,00. She filed a complaint with the Iowa Civil Right Committee claiming the county did not do enough to stop Anderson’s behavior towards her. The statement released by Calhoun County Attorney Tina Meth-Farrington says the county hired an outside entity to investigate the complaints in an effort to be transparent. Scott Anderson resigned from his position as Sheriff back in April after not only being accused of sexual harassment but also being arrested for alleged domestic abuse.
