The inaugural director of the Fort Museum & Frontier Village has died. Dave Parker was the leader of both of those entities for over 2 decades. He was the first ever director there, a position he held from 1981 to 2005. One of the major undertakings during his tenure was the construction of the Fort Dodge Opera House. Parker passed away over the weekend at the age of 69.
