The Fort Dodge girls basketball team at Waukee 98-29 on Saturday. Waukee scored 71 in the 1st half including outscoring the Dodgers 39-5. Waukee made 10 3’s in the 1st half and 13 in the game. Cheyenn Miller- Hameed led the Dodgers with 11, Waukee with 5 players in double figures led by Lindsey Kelderman with a game high 16. The Dodger girls conclude their season with 7 wins , a 5 win increase in year 2 under Coach Scott Messerly and have just 1 player graduating.

The Dodger boys play Monday night at Sioux City West in the playoffs. SCW comes in 11-11 on the season having won of their last 5. They are scoring 62.3 points per game on the season and have 4 players averaging double figures. Balance and 3 point shooting has been key to their offensive equation. As the 4 in double figures average between 10.2 PPG and 11.5 PPG. They shoot the deep ball at a 47% clip as a team. Senior Marcus Mcray is their catalyst leading them in scoring at 11.5 , assists 3.2, steals 1.8  and rebounding 6.4. Classmates Chase Smith and Kyrel Hanks both average over 10 per game and shoot the 3 at over 50%. A key stat for the Dodgers will be the production of Senior Ty Kershaw. The Dodgers are 2-1 this season when Kershaw goes for 20 or more. Classmate Jaheim Clayton has come on late in the senior scoring double figures in 3 of the last 5 regular season games.
