Fort Dodge Men Charged After Incident Last Week In Wright County

The Iowa DCI announced charges Monday on two Fort Dodge men stemming from an incident in Wright County last week. On Sept. 15th Wright County Sheriff’s Deputy Darren Robinson conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle believed to have been involved in a disturbance in Goldfield. The Deputy encountered 31 year old Sean Mcmillan and 30 year old Keaton Robinson both of Fort Dodge. Deputy Robinson handcuffed Mcmillan and placed him in the front seat of his patrol truck. He also handcuffed Robinson outside of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up a handgun. Mcmillan while handcuffed jumped the console of the patrol truck and drive it hitting Deputy Robinson. One round was fired by the Deputy at Mcmillan which missed. Mcmillan fled on foot and was arrested shortly after. Deputy Robinson was taken to the hospital, he was treated for his injuries and released. Sean Mcmillan is charged with attempted murder and escape from custody and Keaton Robinson is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
