Fort Dodge Police Investigating Tuesday Night Shooting

The Fort Dodge Police Dept. is investigating, a Tuesday Night shooting. Officers were dispatched around 11:30 PM, on a call of shots fired in the area of 2nd Ave. North and North 22nd St. Upon arrival, they found evidence of shots fired in the parking lot of the Clark Convenience Store.

Just before Midnight, a call came in that a man had been shot at the Village Green Trailer Park on North 15th St. Officers responded and the man was taken to Unity Point Fort Dodge. He was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

Officers say, they gained information that shots were fired from a vehicle into a group of people standing outside a residence. The man who suffered the gunshot wound was struck by gunfire, as a result. Police Believe the same group was involved in the original shots fired incident, on 2nd Ave. North and North 22nd St.

Police believe that neither of these incidents were random acts. The Fort Dodge PD is still investigating both incidents. Anyone with surveillance video of the area or knowledge of the incidents is asked to contact the FDPD.

No arrests had been announced as of the time of this report.
