Fort Dodge Police Investigating Weekend Shooting Incident

Police here in Fort Dodge are investigating a shooting that happened over the weekend. In the early morning hours on Saturday, officers from the Fort Dodge Police Dept. responded to a report of a shooting. The incident occurred in the 100 Block of Avenue M West. Upon arrival they found a man had been shot he was transported to Unity Point Fort Dodge with injuries that were said to be non-life threatening. The victim was a 51 year old male and according to police the suspect fled the area immediately after the incident. A K-9 unit was brought in to try and locate the suspect but was unsuccessful. Police believe this was an isolated incident and the shooting is still under investigation. Those with knowledge if the incident are asked to contact the Fort Dodge Police Dept.
