Fort Dodge School District Has Hired New Superintendent

The Fort Dodge Community School District has announced the hire of their new Superintendent. Dr. Derrick Joel has been hired to replace Dr. Jesse Ulrich. It was announced earlier this year, the Ulrich has been named the new President at Iowa Central Community College.

Dr. Joel has been serving as the Superintendent of the Raymond Central School in Raymond, Nebraska. He also previously served as a principal and teacher in Ankeny. Dr. Joel Got both his Doctorate and Masters from Drake University.

After accepting the job offer Dr. Joel said  “I’m humbled and honored to be selected to lead the Fort
Dodge School District. My family and I are excited to be part of the District and community. It
is bittersweet to leave the relationships we built in the Raymond Central School District but we
look forward to building new relationships in Fort Dodge.”
