The Fort Dodge Community School District says they are getting closer to naming a new Superintendent. A search to fill the position began after Dr. Jesse Ulrich was named the new President at Iowa Central earlier this year.

The District says 18 candidates for the position were presented to the Fort Dodge Community School Board. Eight of those candidates were out of state candidates. The District says that 5 candidates have been selected for screening interviews that will take place Thursday. During that process, members of the board will ask those candidates question to further evaluate their qualifications.

The finalists are expected to be publicly announced soon after the screening interviews. The new Superintendent is expected to take office on July 1st.
