Hawkeye Players Await Their Names To Be Called In NFL Draft

From Radio Iowa Sports- Several Iowa Hawkeyes will be waiting to hear their names called when the NFL Draft begins tonight.  Defensive lineman Daviyon Nixon had a breakout season in which he was named the Big Ten defensive player of the year. He is projected to go either late 1st round or in the second. Here’s Nixon’s thoughts on the upcoming draft.

 

Defensive end Chauncey Golston is considered a 3rd to 5th round prospect. Golston says he displayed his versatility by playing defensive tackle at the Senior Bowl.

Offensive tackle Alaric Jackson also is  expected to go in the middle rounds. Jackson says he is excited about the opportunity to make a roster.

Coverage of the NFL draft begins with round 1 tonight (Thursday) at 7 PM (Central) on ABC, ESPN and the NFL Network. Rounds 2 &3 are set for 6 PM Friday on those same channels. Saturday will be the final day of the draft with coverage of rounds 4-7 on those same channels starting at 11AM.
