Iowa State offensive lineman Trevor Downing says he is healthy and ready for a new season. The junior from Creston was injured in last year’s season opener against Louisiana and never returned to the field. He watched as Iowa State made it to the Big 12 Championship Game and closed it out with a win over Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl. After the success of last season Downing says the Cyclones are a confident team.
Downing says experience has helped shape the offensive line and that the unit should be a strength of this year’s squad.
Iowa State opens their season Sept. 4th taking on in-state foe UNI.
