The 2nd Tuesday night of the young basketball season saw a full slate of games for the Alpha Media family of stations and saw teams from all over Central Iowa in action. In games heard on 92 Rock The Fort Dodge girls team fell at home to Ames 60-41. The Dodgers were sharp in the 1st half and competed with the 15th ranked Little Cyclones the game was tied at 21 at the half. In the 2nd half Ames would get their offense on track and outscore Fort Dodge 39-20. Ames hit 12 3’s in the game including 7 in the 2nd half. Cheyenne Miller- Hameed led the Dodgers with 9 points, Aleaha Pommer had 8 and Tory Bennett added 7. Ashley Liams and Caroline Waite combined for 48 for Ames. The Dodger boys fell 47-39. Dodgers led 13-9 at the half and 27-24 after 3 quarters. However, Ames closed the game on an 8-0 run to take the win. Junior guard Keyshaun Brooks carried Ames offensively in the 2nd half scoring all 23 of his points after the break. The Dodgers had 2 players in double figures Dayson Clayton with 10 and Monterius Abrams-Altman with 10. For Monterius it was his 3rd double digit scoring effort in 5 games.

The South Central Calhoun Titans were in action on 105-9 “The Beach”. The Titan girls remain unbeaten on the season as they defeated Webster City 43-36. SCC outscored Webster City 15-10 in the 4th. The Titans had 3 players in double figures. The South Central Calhoun Boys fell to Webster City 78-73. The game was a back and forth affair in the 1st half and the Titans led by 2 at the break. Webster City hit 6 3’s in the 3rd to take back momentum. 3 Titans in double figures in the game, Webster City had 4 in double digits including Tyler Olson who lead all scorers with 33.

On “Snowy” 99.7 The St Edmond girls fell 42-38 to Southeast Valley. The Gaels got outscored 14-9 in the 4th quarter. Leah Neverman led St. Edmond with 14 points. In the boys game The Gaels got off to a slow start and trailed by 12 after the 1st. The Gaels would rally back and cut the lead to 2 in the 2nd half. However, Southeast Valley would outscore the Gaels 20-17 down the stretch and win the game 56-47. Connor Bocken led St. Edmond with 17 and Kolson Kruse had 17 for the Jaguars.
