Both the Fort Dodge Dodgers and South Central Calhoun Titans basketball teams were in action on Tuesday night. The Dodgers were swept at home by Waukee. In the girls game Waukee used a 9-3 run to take a 10 point lead at the end of 1st. The Dodgers were then outscored 21-5 in the 2nd quarter and would go on to a 70-26 win. Waukee had 3 players in double figures , Tory Bennett led the Dodgers with 8. In the boys game #1 ranked Waukee would get off to a hot start and would lead 24-7 after the 1st quarter. Waukee would go on to win 76-40. Waukee was led by two D1 recruits Payton Sandfort led the way with 19 and Tucker Devries added 16. The Dodgers were led by Senior Ty Kershaw with 12, for Kershaw it was his 3rd double digit game in the last 4.

South Central Calhoun was on the road at Humboldt. The SCC girls fell for the 1st time since the holiday break. Humboldt used a 17-5 4th quarter to take the win 38-30. Emma Mckinney led South Central Calhoun with 10 points. In the boys game South Central Calhoun trailed at the half 35-32. The Titans exploded in the 2nd half and outscored Humboldt 53-38 to go on to win 85-73. Jacob Thurm led Humboldt with 19, Sam Fischer had 16 and Jamison Heinz added 14. South Central Calhoun had 4 players in double figures including a season high 40 points from Zane Neubaum who is averaging almost 30 per game since the holidays.
