High School Hoops Back After Holiday Hiatus

Friday January 3rd marks the return to action for high school basketball teams around the area. The Alpha Media family of stations has 2 games on the agenda. On “Sunny” 99.7 St. Edmond is at home hosting Humboldt. The St. Edmond girls program is still looking for their 1st win of the year. The boys are looking to break a 4 game losing streak. Join Greg Woods on the call of the game, a 6 PM scheduled start time for the girls pregame show with the boys to follow. On “92” Rock the Fort Dodge Dodgers are on the road taking on Southeast Polk. The Dodger girls went into the holidays on a game win streak after beating Des Moines- Hoover and Marshalltown. The Dodger girls face their toughest test thus far in undefeated #2 Southeast Polk, who is led by Junior standout Grace Larkins who averages 24 PPG. Dodger Girls Coach Scott Messerly says the key to containing Southeast Polk is to hold Larkins below her average.

The Dodger Boys are looking to break their 7 game losing skid tonight against a solid Rams squad. Dodger Coach Tom Daniel says the message to his team during the holidays was that there’s a lot left to play for.
