Iowa Central Rolls Past Ellsworth 58-6 In 1st Road Test Of The Season

Iowa Central had no trouble in their 1st road test if the season. The Tritons rolled at Ellsworth Saturday 58-6. Iowa Central came out of the gate strong scoring 3 times in the 1st, to lead 21-0 after the 1st quarter.

DB Major Williams ran a kick back 75 yards for a TD to open the game. The Tritons continue to employ a 2 QB system, as both Brady Pope and Byron Jarrett got game reps. Jarrett is an Ellsworth transfer, who was making his trip back there since coming to Iowa Central.

Jarrett was 7 of 11 with 3 of his passes going for TD’s. He also ran for 71 yards and a score. Pope was 13 of 21 with 3 TD passes. TE Clayton Ollendeick had a career high three TD catches, he finished with 6 receptions for 75 yards. WR Jayce Levy had 6 catches for 60 yards and two scores.

The Triton defense had 6 sacks on the day and LB Dylan Cain had an interception.

The Tritons are now 3-1 on the season, they’ll travel to Council Bluffs to take on Iowa Western this weekend. Iowa Central will be looking for retribution after falling to Iowa Western 34-20 at Dodger Stadium in week 2.
