Marshalltown Teacher Accused Of Sexual Exploitation Found Dead In Story County

A Marshalltown teacher accused of sexually exploiting a student was found dead late last week. Authorities say, 42 year old Adam Eugene Edgington was found dead in a vehicle, Friday morning in rural Story County. He was found after a call for a check of his welfare was made Thursday night following his arrest.

Edginton was arrested last Thursday for sexual exploitation of a student by a school employee. That charge stemmed from his alleged inappropriate contact with a 13 year old student.

Police say, early indications from the investigation lead them to believe that he died from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
