The 2021 Iowa State High School Track Meet is in the books. Several athletes from the area had notable finishes.
St. Edmond’s Kase Baker won gold in the Boys 200. Their Girls 4X800 crew took gold (Aubrey Bemrich, Caroline Shelly, Michaela Leiting and Emma Alstott). The Girls Distance Medley group took silver (Mya Mcclain, Gracie Harvey, Avery Galles and Aubrey Bemrich). Bemrich also took 5th in The Gaels 4X200 Boys relay group took 4th (Grant Heldorfer, Sean Flattery, Anthoy Lacina and Kase Baker). St. Edmond’s Boys had a bronze finish in the Sprint Medley.
The 4X100 Relay group for Fort Dodge finished 5th (Tyler Schreier, Sam Daniel, Christian Davidson and Jake Erickson. ) That same crew was 7th in the Sprint Medley.
Humboldt’s Quinton Orr took bronze in the 1600 and 3200. Kendall Clark took bronze in the Girls Discuss. Humboldt’s Boys Distance Medley Group won gold. Eric Wittrock was 6th in the 800.
Southeast Valley’s Kaleb Scott took silver in the high jump. Tre Fisher was 6th in the long jump. Kiersten Fisher took silver in 3 different events, 100 hurdles, long jump and high jump. She also finished 8th in the 100.
South Central Calhoun’s Cole Corey finished 7th in the Boys 400 Hurdles. Pocahontas Area’s Dane Johnson was 4th in the Shot Put. Teammate, Trey Oehlertz was 7th in the 100 and 8th in the 200.
Greene County’s Jackson Morton was 4th in the Boys 110 hurdles, Manson NW Webster’s Dayton Snell was 6th and teammate Cael Collins was 7th. Greene County was 4th in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay and Manson NW Webster was 7th.
Bishop Garrigan’s Audi Crooks took gold in the Shot Put and teammate Molly Joyce earned gold in the long jump. Their Girls Shuttle Hurdle Relay Group took silver.
Wet Bend Mallard’s Rachel Fehr took gold in two events, the 200 and 400.
Matea Conlon of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows got bronze n the 100.
