Reports: Ankeny Woman Was Denied A Re-Test For Covid-19

WeAreIowa.com is reporting that an Ankeny woman whose “test Iowa” covid-19 test sample was damaged has been denied the opportunity to re-test. Reportedly, Dr. Kathleen Gannon was exposed to covid-19 April 17th while visiting her 93 year old father who died that day from covid-19. Gannon said she had full PPE gear on during the visit. On April 21st Gannon took the assessment and qualified for “Test Iowa” testing. She took the test April 28th and received an email May 3rd that her sample arrived at the lab. <ay 7th she got an email that her sample was damaged. Gannon says that about 10:45 PM May 7th she reeived an email confirming her appointment for re-testing on May 8th. Within a minute of that email she received a conflicting email that stated her sample had been received by the lab. She went to take the re-test on May 8th and was denied due to having already taken the test. As of Monday night Gannon still had not gotten an answer on what she can do get the test she originally qualified for. According to WeAreIowa.Com the Governor’s office hadn’t responded to inquiries regarding this issue as of Monday night.
