Spencer Man Arrested After Police Chase Through Two Counties

A Clay County man was arrested a police chase through Pocahontas and Buena Vista Counties. Police say 32 year old Spencer resident Jordan Walbaum led them on a chase Monday Afternoon. The chase started near Laurens and continued to Marathon. Walbaum allegedly stole a Chevy truck in Spencer and when police tried to conduct a traffic stop he refused and them in a pursuit. During the chase Walbaum reportedly items from the truck which were later discovered to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. At one point officers were able to lock the truck using its Onstar system. Walbaum then bailed out of the truck window while it was still moving. The truck kept going and hit two cars before barreling into a garage. He then ran on foot but was apprehended in a house in the nearby area.
