Turnovers & Second Half Swoon Does Iowa Central In At Iowa Western

Iowa Central Football fell at Iowa Western on Saturday, 37-14. The Tritons hung tough early and trailed by just one score at the half, 13-7. The 2nd half belonged to Iowa Western as they outscored Iowa Central 24-7 to win it going away.

Turnovers plagued Iowa Central, they had 5 giveaways on the day and were -4 in turnover margin for the game. The Reivers rolled up over 400 yards of total offense. Iowa Western Freshman QB Nate Glantz had nearly 300 yards passing and 3 TD’s.

Iowa Central as usual played two QB’s, Brady Pope was 17 of 30 for 156 yards. Byron Jarrett was 3 of 9, with a TD pass, 2 interceptions and a TD run. Desna Washington had a TD catch and Madison Ridgeway had 5 catches for 67 yards.

Iowa Western had three different receivers catch TD passes. With the win, Iowa Western sweeps the season series and has the inside track at the ICCAC Conference Title.

Iowa Central is now 3-2 on the season, they have a bye this week. The Tritons are slated to host #4 Snow College (Utah) at Dodger Stadium on May 8th.
