Two Officers At Fort Dodge Correctional Injured After Incident With Inmate Tuesday

Two corrections officers at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility were injured after an incident with an inmate Tuesday. According to a statement from the Iowa Dept. Of Corrections, the incident happened around 1:30 Tuesday Afternoon. An inmate was being escorted to their cell, when the inmate punched an officer in the face multiple times. Other officers then responded, during the fight another officer suffered minor injuries. One officer was taken to the Unity Point hospital and was treated and released. The other officer was treated by the prison’s medical staff and was released. The Iowa DOC didn’t release the name of the inmate and stated the incident remains under investigation.
