The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Fort Dodge and the surrounding areas from 6 PM Tuesday night until noon Wednesday. A winter storm with strong winds is expected to move into the area. Blowing snow is expected with a total accumulation of up to 4 inches and winds gusting up to 50 MPH are expected during that time frame. A small ice accumulation is expected as well. The blowing snow is expected to reduce visibility overnight, slippery road conditions are expected as well. Those hazardous conditions could impact Tuesday’s evening commute as well as Wednesday’s morning commute. The strong winds could cause tree branches to fall adding to the hazards. Motorists are urged to use caution and reduced speeds late Tuesday into early Wednesday.
