Authorities have identified the Fort Dodge man who died Friday morning as a result of an apparent gunshot wound.

According to a press release from the Fort Dodge Police Department, 45 year old Ryan Andrews has been identified as the man who was found unresponsive in a yard in the 1600 block of 14th avenue southwest just after 5:15 Friday morning

According to initial reports from the Fort Dodge Police Department the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call that morning that someone had been shot.

Officers responding to the scene located Andrews and rendered medical aid until members of the Fort Dodge Fire Department arrived and took over.

Andrwes was transported by ambulance to Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the FDPD.
