Volunteers Are Urged to Check with Authorities Prior to Helping with Tornado Cleanup Efforts in Southern Iowa

(Alpha Media- Brooke Bickford) These pictures are from outside Pleasant Hill following Saturday’s deadly tornadoes. Winterset was hit hard but other areas
like Vandalia are described as looking like a war zone by a local resident who spoke with Alpha Media who helped with cleanup efforts on Sunday. Some areas are unreachable at this time, power lines are still down so anyone wanting to help is urged to contact the local authorities before heading to the areas affected.
