Dog Saved by Fort Dodge Police and Webster County Animal Protection After Jumping Off Bridge into the River

(Alpha Media- Brooke Bickford) The Fort Dodge Police and Webster County Animal Protection teamed up Friday night in an effort to save a dog that had jumped  off the Hawkeye Avenue Bridge into the Des Moines River.

According to reports from eye witnesses, the dog jumped after she was honked at on the busy bridge. Upon arrival Webster County Animal Protection Officer Kaila Benson and Fort Dodge Police Officer Naatz jumped in the water to save her. She was transported to a local veterinarian where she is being treated.
