A New Store Opens in Downtown Fort Dodge That Caters to Sports Fans

There’s been a spot for hobby, gaming and comic book fans in downtown Fort Dodge  by way of Dungeon and Dodgers for years now and just down the block a new store has set up shop for sports fans.

It’s called the Card Collective Hobby Shop and according to the owner Lane Leisher opening it is a dream come true.

“I’ve been collecting for most of my life, cards and memorabilia. It’s always been a dream to open a store.”

He says when he moved to Fort Dodge six months ago from Oklahoma and saw there wasn’t a sports store in the area that’s when that dream started to become a reality. He saw the space that housed the former Wicker Jewelry Store was available and decided it was the right time to act.

“Leisher says they buy sell and trade sports cards and memorabilia. We deal with anything collectable sports-wise really.”

A grand opening for the new store located in the former Wicker Jewelry location at 700 Central Avenue was held over the weekend  and Leisher says regular business hours will be Wed, Thurs, Friday and Sunday 12-6 and Saturdays 12-7.
