An 18 year old man has been found guilty of first degree murder in the shooting death of 15 year old Jameel Redding-Pettigrew that happened in Fort Dodge on the 4th of July.

Webster County Attorney Darren Driscoll says a jury found Jamarion James Davis of Ankeny guilty of the 4th of July murder after deliberating in a Story County courtroom Monday morning.

Davis had been accused of gunning down the 15 year old at the corner of 4th Avenue South and South 15th Street. The trial had been moved to Story County due to pre-trial publicity.

A sentencing date for Davis is pending.
