Today the VFW in the northern Iowa town of Britt was recognized on the US Senate floor for all that they are doing for service members deployed across the globe.
U.S. Senator Charles Grassley tells Alpha Media News that VFW Post 4370 has received the Veterans and Family Support Award.
“This year they’re sending packages to the USS Fitzgerald, the USS McCain, the USS Chafee and Iowa National Guard Units that are deployed in Kuwait and Poland and also the USS Carl Vinson. So I’m going to give that speech on the floor of the Senate honoring the Britt VFW.”
The annual award from the national VFW recognizes local auxiliaries for exceptional work for service members.
