Celebration and Fundraiser for Webster County EMS Set For Friday
It’s where emergency care begins most times.
Emergency Medical Services also known as ambulance and paramedic services is one of the toughest jobs a person can do and because it is not deemed an essential service EMS services are run on mostly a volunteer basis.
For Mandy Cox, Fort Dodge Fire and Rescue EMT, that is what makes the job so rewarding, the people who have a passion for helping others.
Because EMS services are not labeled essential, there is not additional money to provide funding for training and education for the folks who dedicate their time.
Cox says that’s what an event this Friday is for, to help raise money and celebrate those who work in EMS.
The EMS Fundraising event will open to the public at 7 at the Webster County Fairgrounds.
