Community Health Care Opens Doors for Saturday COVID-19 Testing

A press release from Community Health Center of Fort Dodge says

“Due to increased demand in our community Community Health Center of Fort Dodge will be open on
Saturday, January 8th from 8 am – Noon for COVID-19 testing. Appointments may be scheduled online
at chcfd.com.
Community Health Center of Fort Dodge provides rapid testing with results in less than 20 minutes.
Their rapid testing provides 96.7% accuracy is billed to insurance. In addition they offer PCR testing
for children under the age of 5 and for the most severe patients, those who are ill appearing or
experiencing shortness of breath. The Cepheid machine gives results for COVID-19, RSV, Influenza A
and Influenza B with one nasopharyngeal swab. Results are available in under 40 minutes. Community
Health Center of Fort Dodge does not offer COVID testing for travel clearance. Staff will determine the
type of test used for each patient. Testing takes place at the health center located at 126 N 10 th Street in
Fort Dodge.”
