Day of Service Celebrates Life and Legacy of Late Iowa Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Cady
Friday is a special day for those who knew Iowa Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Cady.
It is Cady Day of Service across the state of Iowa, a celebration of the life and work of the late Chief Justice who began his career in Webster County.
Webster County Attorney Darren Driscoll told Alpha Media that, “Mark Cady was one of a kind. His intellect and personality allowed him to reach the highest legal office in the state of Iowa, Chief Justice of the Iowa Supreme Court. But he was much more than that. Every time I spoke with him he was very interested in what was going on in my career and my life. He was like that with everyone he met. He was a friend to all. He was kind. We were blessed to have the time we did with him and Iowa and Webster County are better for having him in our lives.”
Mark Cady passed away in 2019.
*Leading up to the day of service, Thursday night a special spaghetti supper will be hosted by the Webster County Bar Association at 5-7pm at First Presbyterian Church with money raised going to the Cady Learning Center.
*Friday, Fort Dodge Parks and Rec will set up shop at the Oleson Park Pavilion to raise glove and hat donations for those in the community in need. Donations can be dropped off Friday between 4-6 or during the week at Citizen’s Central 617 Central Avenue.
