Deadline This Week for Fort Dodge Citizens Who Want to Run for City Council

The deadline to file papers to run for one of several spots on the Fort Dodge City Council is Thursday at 5pm.

The election is set for November 7th and the opportunity to represent every ward in the city is open as well as an At-Large seat on the council.

Wards are currently represented by Cameron Nelson, Kim Alstott, David Flattery and Terry Moenke. Those elected to the wards serve a term of 2 years and in order to run, need to have ten signatures signed and submitted by the deadline.

The At-Large seat is represented by Megan Secor, who won a special election this year to finish off the term vacated by Neven Conrad. To run for that position, 29 signatures are needed from people living within incorporated Fort Dodge.
