First Degree Murder Trial Set for Fort Dodge Man Charged in Father’s Murder

The first degree murder trial of a Fort Dodge man charged in the shooting death of his father on October first of last year has been set.

According to court documents, the trial of 20 year old Olnario Rodriguez-Ruffridge will begin on July 30th.

Rodriguez-Ruffridge was charged with First Degree Murder following an investigation into the shooting death of his father 44 year old Jason Ruffridge of Fort Dodge.

On October 1st at approximately 8:42 P.M. Webster County Dispatch received a call of someone being shot in the 200 Blk. 3rd Ave. N.W.

When officers arrived on scene, they located one unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds. That man, now identified as Jason Ruffridge, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Rodriguez-Ruffridge was arrested days later following the investigation.

As with all cases, Rodriguez‐Ruffridge is considered innocent until proven guilty in a

court of law.
