Fort Dodge Lemonade Stand Raises Funds for Family of Murdered 14 Year Old

One week ago Dakarie James was shot and killed in the middle of the afternoon in Fort Dodge.

The shock continues to be felt by the community and especially for those who knew the 14 year old and the 19 year old who is charged in his murder.

Alyssa Castillo and her children are friends of the family and along with her sister-in-law, have organized a lemonade stand with high hopes of raising enough money to help Dakarie’s mother lay her son to rest.

The first day, the lemonade stand raised about 600 dollars. Castillo says they will be out there at 1402 8th Avenue South selling lemonade as long as the weather cooperates throughout the weekend.
