Fort Dodge Man Charged with Murdering His Father Sunday Night

A son has been arrested and charged with the murder of his father Sunday night in Fort Dodge.

According to the Fort Dodge Police Department 20 year old Olnario Rodriguez-Ruffridge faces a First Degree Murder charge in the shooting death of 44 year old Jason Ruffrage of Fort Dodge.

On Sunday at approximately 8:42 P.M. Webster County Dispatch received a call of someone being shot in the 200 Blk. 3rd Ave. N.W.

When officers arrived on scene, they located one unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds. That man, now identified as Jason Ruffridge, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Over the past few days, investigators have continued to gather information, speak to witnesses, and follow up on all leads and continue to do so.

The Fort Dodge Police Department has been aided in this investigation by the Webster County Attorney’s office.

A preliminary hearing is set for October 13th in Webster County.

As with all cases, Mr. Rodriguez‐Ruffridge is considered innocent until proven guilty in a

court of law.
