Lease for Duncombe Bar and Grill is the Topic of a Townhall Meeting Tonight
A town hall style meeting is getting started at 6:30 pm tonight in Duncombe following some controversy over the owners of that building allegedly not wanting to renew the lease with its long-time tenant.
The public meeting at the Duncombe Community Center was scheduled after statements were made by some of the owners of the building that houses Stumpy’s Bar and Grill to the Fort Dodge Messenger about not wanting to renew a lease with the bar’s owner Bruce Wagner also known as Stumpy. “It’s not business, a couple of them don’t like me.”
The building at 423 Main Street is owned by the American Legion Post 41.
Wagner spoke to Alpha Media News about the support he has received leading up to the meeting tonight “I appreciate all the support,” He said. “It’s been a fun ride. I don’t want it to end this way.”
He said he has helped to put Duncombe on the map with having one of the top five tenderloins in the state of Iowa this year and he doesn’t want to close up shop yet if he can avoid it.
