New Businesses Opened in Fort Dodge in 2023

All new businesses start as someone’s dream, and several of those dreams became a reality in 2023.
From clothing stores and financial services to therapy, nightlife and coffee, a lot of locations in Fort Dodge have become the permanent homes to some local entrepreneurs this year.

The Laramar Ballroom opened at 710 1st Avenue South after a major renovation.

The building at 512 Central Avenue that used to be home to Cricket’s Lounge was sold and renovated into Salty Suz and a former mobile coffee business known as Stella’s Coffee Bar, planted roots next to Brown’s Shoe Fit at 160 S 25th Street.

A couple of young entrepreneurs showed no Fear to Dream as they opened up shop at 1222 Central Avenue in October along with just like that kicks. 427 South 18th Street became home to “all dope fits” at the Basic Shirt Co and a consignment clothing store called Thredz and an antique store named The Pink Cricket opened at 102 South 14th Street.
Down the road on the crosstown connector, Full Swing Financial opened at 1725 1st Avenue South with a “full swing approach to helping people plan their financial futures” and just about three blocks south from there Walsh Engraving opened at 1603 3rd Avenue South. To help people destress and relax, Alleviation Massage Therapy opened at 1006 South 22nd Street, Sun Med CBD Store at 1026 Central Avenue and The Face Place at 1503 6th Ave North.
