Prairie Rivers Trail Ride Recognizes Cancer Survivor’s Journey

Ragbrai is crossing the state and soon a couple bike events will be crossing Fort Dodge. 

The Prairie Rivers Trail Ride will be held August 12th in Fort Dodge.

That ride has become a tradition that teams up the love of biking the area trails with raising money in honor of special people and the causes that are close to their hearts.

This year the person honored during the ride is Connie Johnson.

Johnson began her year and a half journey through treatment and tells Alpha Media she has been given great news, today she is cancer free. 

Johnson said when she was asked where she would like to see the money from this years ride go, it was a no brainer.

“After spending the last year at the cancer center it was evident to me that that was where the money needed to go,” Johnson said. “It will be specifically used for patient wellness and recovery.”

The ride starts at River Hops and will cruise down Central Avenue and this year will be a little longer with a trip around Kennedy Lake. The ride will end at Amigos.
