The night sky above Sports Park Raceway in Fort Dodge will be filled with the excitement of the 4th of July this Friday night following the races.

Again this year, they will host the Fort Dodge Fireworks, but one thing  is a little different this year, the fireworks and the attendance to the raceway is free.

Anchoring the fireworks display for a community of around 25-thousand is Jeff Frevert, the owner of the Sports Park Raceway.

He says this year he received a hand from Tim Bacon with the NRA to not only bring the fireworks to Fort Dodge, but to make the race night a free one for everyone.

The gates open at 5pm at the raceway located at 2298 South River Road in Fort Dodge.
