Teen Arrested After Leading Fort Dodge Police on High Speed Chase

A 17 year old has been charged with a handful of charges after leading police on a high speed chase across Fort Dodge that started on 5th Avenue South and ended when the vehicle in pursuit crashed into a house.

According to a press release from the Fort Dodge Police Department the juvenile was taken into custody after leading police on the high speed chase that began Saturday at just after 11:30 pm in the 2500 block 5th Ave. S. and came to an end when the driver fled the vehicle while it was still moving and it crashed into a residence at 1014 25th Ave. N.
The driver of the vehicle was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. Additional officers responded to the area of the collision and located multiple other occupants of the vehicle. As officers continued to investigate the incident it was
discovered that the vehicle involved in the pursuit was reported stolen out of Des Moines.
The juvenile offender who has not been identified was transported to juvenile detention.
