After a career in Fort Dodge radio that has spanned decades, Jane E. Morgan has signed off Mix 94.5 for the last time.

On Friday, the veteran broadcasters retired from her full time position with Alpha Media Fort Dodge.

When asked what made her job so special over the years she said, “Hands down, I enjoy the listeners the most,” she said. “They’re just awesome people.”

Morgan signed on the air for the first time October 5th, 1981. She has been a teacher, a mentor and a friend to many who have worked in local radio over the years.

She won’t disappear completely from the job she’s loved for so long. You will still be able to hear her weekdays from 3 to 7 on K97.

She says the semi-retirement will allow her time to take care of her new grandbaby and to sleep in, something she hasn’t been able to do for over 40 years.
