Woman Rescued by Jaws of Life in Webster County Accident Returns Home Today

November 21st, at the intersection of Highway 169 and 290th Street in Webster County, Marleena Purkapile-Orr was involved in a two vehicle accident that could have taken her life.

Less than three weeks since she was rushed by Life Flight first to a Des Moines hospital then to Iowa City, Purkapile-Orr is preparing to head home this weekend to be with her family.

She tells Alpha Media News that she still has some real healing to do, but she is in good spirits as she plans to start outpatient therapy next week.

Her jaw is wired shut and is not able to walk on her own yet, but her overall recovery is one she says doctors and nurses believed would take much longer.

She posted on social media,  “Thankful to be alive & here today, I go home Friday night and get to see my babies.”

On the scene afternoon with Marleena were emergency crews from Southwest Webster Ambulance, Fort Dodge Fire and Rescue as well as the Callender and Gowrie Volunteer Fire Departments
