Going into week 4 of the high school season we billed it as  the biggest week of the season thus far and it lived up to that billing. Below are the results of the 4 games that were heard the Alpha Media family of stations.

(92.1 FM) Fort Dodge 36 Carroll 10- The Dodgers were opportunistic scoring 29 points on 4 Carroll turnovers. The Dodger defense would score 3 times with interceptions returned for touchdowns. Sam Daniel, Brycen Bell, and Tyler Nichols all took an interception too the house. Bell and Nichols did so on back to back possessions. The Dodger defense had some issues in the 1st half with Carroll’s I- formation downhill run attack but made halftime adjustments and allowed just 15 total yards in the 2nd half. Offensively, the Dodgers were able to gain yardage and drive at times but couldn’t translate that into points on the board. Senior WR Tysen Kershaw though showed his ability as a big time play maker with 6 catches for a 179 yards and TD catch of 87 yards.  Coach Matt Miller is now just one win shy of tying for the lead in wins in school history. The Dodgers move to 4-0 and are ranked in the top 10.

(“Sunny” 99.7 FM) Bishop Garrigan 28 St. Edmond 15- The Gaels fall to 2-2 on the season after a gutsy and ultra competitive effort against traditional class A power Bishop Garrigan. The Gaels trailed 14 to 8 at halftime. They would get a big play on special teams on a blocked punt by Jackson Bemrich that would set them up in the “red zone”. They would score on the ensuing possession as RB Sean Flattery would punch it in on a TD run and the Gaels would make the extra point to take a 15-14 lead. Bishop Garrigan would score a few minutes later to take the lead for good.

(“Mix” 94.5) “Central Iowa Area Showcase Game”  Hampton- Dumont-Cal 33 Clarion- Goldfield-Dows 0 Hampton-Dumont-Cal would score 3 times in the 1st half to take a commanding early lead into the locker room they would cruise from there.

(105.9 “The Beach”) South Central Calhoun 38 Southeast Valley 7                                                                          In what was a match up of two top 10 ranked teams,  The Titans defense was superb again holding SE Valley to only 92 total yards.  That defense has only allowed 13 points in 4 games. Landon Schliesman with 2 TD’s for South Central Calhoun. The Titans move to 4-0 on the season and are ranked in the top 10.
