Dodgers Roll At Ames

The Fort Dodge Dodger football team passed its 1st road test of the 2019 season with flying colors beating Ames 42-7 in week 2. The Dodgers outscored Ames 27-7 in the 2nd half after leading 14-0 at the halftime. Fort Dodge RB Dayson Clayton was sensational leading the team in rushing and receiving. Clayton had 244 total yards , 164 rushing on 16 carries and 3 TD’s and 6 catches for 80 yards. In the 3rd Quarter the Dodger coaching staff made a concerted effort to feed Clayton as he scored all 3 of his rushing TD’s in 3rd Quarter. Dodger QB Asle Thorson had another good performance 22 of 28 for 243 yards and 2 passing TD’s. The defense held Ames to just 47 yards rushing and 228 total yards. Next up for the Dodgers will be their homecoming game Sept. 13th vs Indianola.
